Kaitlyn Heaney
Kaitlyn Heaney was born and raised in Kamloops and was fortunate to spend a year with extended family in the Yukon. After working fulltime for four years to fund her post-secondary education, she enrolled in Thompson Rivers University. There she furthered her skills in drawing and began painting. Drawing has always been a part of her life, though she did not start putting together large compositions until university. Kaitlyn’s interests in that genre surround the formulation of odd creatures. In her paintings she prefers to complete visual research and preliminary sketches before creating landscapes. Intaglio printmaking, although not a primary focus is also an area of interest. For the present, she concentrates on her current body of work, The Swamp.
